Nobu Dubai

The Palm Jumeirah Dubai, UAE

In celebration of Nobu Dubai's 15th anniversary, the restaurant relocated to the former Royal Bridge Suite of the Atlantis Palm. Rockwell Group originally designed the first Nobu Dubai, which opened in 2008. The new location is a continuation of our story of Japanese craft that spans almost three decades. This exploration of materiality is a reflection Chef Nobu’s inventive, non-traditional cuisine: the quality and translucency of the fish, the composition of color and texture in each dish, and the melding of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine.

Occupying the sky bridge that connects the two Atlantis Towers, Nobu Dubai provides guests with an elevated dining experience. The restaurant features a bar and lounge, expansive outdoor dining terrace, sushi bar, and private dining lounge with spectacular views of the Palm Jumeirah, Arabian Gulf and city skyline. Rockwell Group’s design concept reflects Nobu’s roots in the Japanese countryside while also celebrating the Dubai oceanfront context with subtle references to the myth of underwater Atlantis.

A highly textured, luxurious palette, including hammered metals, chiseled and weathered stones, and green quartzite, evoke an environment submerged under an ocean wave.

The main dining room is flanked by a sushi bar towards the back of the space.

Oceanfront Context

A site-specific installation floats above the glowing central bar and moves through the lounge, leading guests to the dining area and terrace. Materiality is inspired by the beauty of natural elements that evolve over time.
