1 Hotel Toronto celebrates the beauty of the city's natural environment, with a design that is anchored by wellness and resiliency. Our concept reframes the city, turning its urbanism inside out, and asking, “What if a luxury hotel was an inviting portal to the natural world, instead of a flight from it?” Our material palette takes inspiration from the muted colors of Lake Ontario and the contrasting textures of the passing seasons.
Inspired by Lake Ontario, the entry is lined with a mix of hand selected granite and limestone boulders from local quarries, maple trees, and local plants.
The nest-like lobby features a living green wall and reclaimed furnishings from materials such as elm wood and teak root.
Guest rooms reinterpret the city's culture and energy from a place of refuge.
Sliding barn doors divide the light and airy bedrooms from the bathrooms.
Hickory wood adds warmth to the marble bathrooms.
