Unfolding against the backdrop of the French Riviera, the musical tells the story of two con men. The airy set is inspired by the Mediterranean’s open vistas, where pale-blue sky meets deep-blue sea. With a simple, shimmering blue surround and two onstage turntables, the musical’s multiple locations are suggested through line and form, rather than represented with full-blown set pieces.
