On July 25th we celebrated David Rockwell's 60th birthday at the Central Park Zoo. It was a magical, midsummer night, and even a thunderstorm couldn't ruin the party (it gave way to a beautiful sunset and rainbow). Guests were treated to fairytale floral crowns by Ovando and a live performance by Rob Paparozzi and his band. Fashion illustrator Bil Donovan created gestural portraits of guests, while magician Ryan Oakes wowed us with intriguing illusions. Take a peek at our party pics.

Ovando created a portal of roses that flanked the entry to the main tent.

A cake for the ages
David and his daughter Lola cut the 23-layer chocolate cake by Michael Jordan's The Steak House N.Y.C.
